Here are some of my favourite photos previously posted on this site available as high-resolution downloads for your computer desktop. They are available as jpeg’s in a number of screen resolutions. To install the photos on to your computer desktop, just follow the instructions at the bottom of this page.

- Screen Resolution - check what screen resolution your Mac has. If you’re not sure, click on ‘System Preferences’, then ‘Displays’. Your current screen resolution will be highlighted in the box. If the download options above do not include your required screen resolution, choose the resolution closest to it and your Mac will stretch the image to fit.
- Download - Ctrl-click on the required photo/resolution and choose ‘Save Link As…’, then choose a location to save it that you’ll remember or to your desktop.
- Set as Desktop - click on ‘System Preferences’, then ‘Desktop’. You can select the downloaded photo by clicking on the dropdown menu called ‘Collection:’, then ‘Choose Folder…’ and navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded photo. Alternatively, you can drag the downloaded photo to the box called ‘Current Desktop Picture:’

- Screen Resolution - check what screen resolution your PC has. If you’re not sure, right-click on your desktop, then choose ‘Properties’ and then click on the ‘Settings’ tab. Your current screen resolution will be listed in the box. If the download options above do not include your required screen resolution, choose the resolution closest to it and your PC will stretch the image to fit.
- Download - click on the required photo/resolution. Alternatively, you can right-click on the required photo/resolution, then click on ‘Save Target As…’ and then choose a location to save it that you’ll remember.
- Set as Background - when the photo has downloaded, right-click on the photo and choose ‘Set as Background’. Alternatively, if you have saved the photo to a specific location, right-click on your desktop, then choose ‘Properties’ and then click on the ‘Desktop’ tab. You can then choose the saved photo by clicking on ‘Browse…’ and navigating to the location where you saved the downloaded photo.
